The Alkaline Diet, all you need to know!

Updated: Sep 30, 2020

Hot, hot, hot, the Alkaline Diet! Hollywood celebs love it! It helps you lose weight and avoid problems like arthritis and cancer.

Some food makes our body acid. Food like meat, refined sugar, wheat and processed foods. Acid is not good, Alkaline is what's important.

You probably have already heard something about Alkaline. It is a drink or food with a higher pH level than tap water for instance.

The pH level has a scale from 0 to 14, from acidic to Alkaline.

Alkaline water or food has the function to neutralize the acid in our body. Besides the higher pH level, it also contains a negative ORP (oxidation reduction potential). The more negative, the better, the more anti-oxidizing it is.

Super greens is in general pH neutral or slightly Alkaline. It fits easily in an Alkaline diet.

If you want to know more about Alkaline, what it is and why it is so healthy, please read this article about it.

What to eat?

Most vegetables and fruits, soybeans, tofu, nuts, seeds and legumes are Alkaline promoting foods. On the other hand, eggs, meat, dairy, most grains and processed foods, like canned or packaged food are not to be called Alkaline and should be avoided.

It is a vegetarian diet and gluten-free.

There are three categories:

Acidic: meat, fish, chicken, wheat, alcohol, coffee.

Neutral: butter, most oils, creams and milk.

Alkaline: most fruits and vegetables

So basically...

...it is about eating healthier, but what should you eat exactly?!
